<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suture anchor used to attach a soft tissue to a hard tissue via a suture to implant repair. <P>SOLUTION: The suture anchor for knotlessly securing nearby tissue to a bone includes: an anchor body (2) including a mechanism for being securely anchored to the bone, an elongated suture puller (3) extending through the anchor body with a proximal end for being pulled in a proximal direction by a surgeon and a distal end with a suitable mechanism for engaging the suture; the suture (1) carried by an engaging mechanism at the distal end of the elongated suture puller (3); and a suture locking mechanism (4) that substantially prevents the suture (1) from moving in at least a first direction after being pulled into and through the anchor body (2) by the elongated suture puller (3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
