The drive axle (10a) has steering axle (11a) that carries wheel hub (12a), shaft (13a) and rotationally decoupled sealing bellows unit (14a) with axial ends (15a,16a). The shaft is mounted on axial end (15a) on which shaft (13a) is mounted. The axial end (16a) is directly attached to steering axle. An independent claim is included for retrofitting method of drive axle.
