<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector which can be reduced in height. <P>SOLUTION: The electric connector includes a housing 10 of electrical insulation material, and a terminal 20 which is formed by bending a metal band member in a plate thickness direction, to be held by the housing. The terminal includes a held part 21 which is held by the housing, an elastic arm part 22 which is extended from the held part and in which a contact part 22B is formed on one end in the extension direction, with the contact part being pressurized by a mating terminal 40 for elastic displacement, and a connection part 24 that is connected to a circuit board, on the other end side. When a mating connector 2 is engaged, the elastic arm part 22 interferes with the mating terminal 40 by the contact part 22B, to be pressed and elastically displaced at least in the direction perpendicular to the engagement direction. The elastic arm part 22 is inclined in the direction contacting to the mating terminal 40, toward the end edge in the extension direction. A slope 22A is provided which reduces its plate thickness as advances toward the end edge, at a portion closer to the end edge.
