<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that a twisted nematic liquid crystal in a TN mode or the like has a slow response speed and causes blur in motion pictures when displaying a high-speed image. <P>SOLUTION: By setting the relation between the twist pitch p and the gap d of a twist liquid crystal to p/d<8 and stabilizing polymers to achieve high-speed stabilization which increases the torque for recovering an alignment state when no voltage is applied, the response speed of the liquid crystal during falling is increased. By applying the above technique to a liquid crystal display device which is driven to reset, overdrive or perform common modulation, a fast response speed is obtained even when a TN liquid crystal is used. Consequently, the liquid crystal can cope with a field sequential display which requires a faster response speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
