<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker which deliciously steams rice at high temperature by suppressing diffusion of the heat from an inner pot, and reduces drying or change in color of the rice by suppressing heat at heat-retention, and saves energy. <P>SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes: a substantially cylinder vacuum container which forms a vacuum layer between an inner case and an outer case, and has an upper opening and a lower opening; a body which has the vacuum container as an inner wall; a bottom container provided at a lower part of the vacuum container; an inner pot which is detachably stored in the vacuum container through the upper opening; a heating coil which is provided on the lower surface of the bottom container, and heats the inner pot with induction; a cooling means for cooling the heating coil; and a control means for supplying power to the heating coil, and controlling the cooling means.
