<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an end plate for a rotor for a synchronous reluctance motor that prevents eddy current loss while reducing manufacturing costs. <P>SOLUTION: An end plate 16 has: protrusions 44 that come into contact with an axial end surface 17 of a rotor core 14 having flux barriers FB1 to FB4 formed therein when the end plate 16 is mounted on the rotor core 14; and depressions 46 that do not come into contact with the axial end surface 17.
