PURPOSE: A clutch for an automatic transmission is provided to improve the sealing performance and reducing the wear of a retainer and a clutch. CONSTITUTION: A clutch(1) for an automatic transmission comprises a retainer unit(10), a piston unit(20), a disk unit(30), an elastic unit(40), and a sealing unit(50). The retainer unit is adhered to the inner side of a housing for a transmission(100) and receives torque. The piston unit is embedded in the retainer unit. The piston unit is moved by hydraulic pressure and supported by the elastic unit. The disk unit is pressurized by the piston unit. The elastic unit supports the piston unit. The sealing unit is mounted in the piston unit to prevent the leakage of oil.
