Disclosed is a device 100 for processing coin-shaped electric value information storage medium IC and card-shaped value information storage medium CD eg coin and card shaped tokens with an integrated circuits. The device has a shared input slot 102 for the IC coin and the IC card in which the coin slot 138 and the card slot 140 overlap. It has a shared path for the coin and the card, the coin path going downwards, with the card path overlapping coin's path, so that a reading/writing means close to the shared path can read/write to both the types of token. The device also has a carriage means (132 fig 3)which takes the CD card inside the device. The device may also have a IC media detection means for detecting the coin or card on the shared path and means to stop a second token being put into the slot when a token is detected. The device may also be able to take standard coins in the shared slot. |
