A light-emitting device includes a substrate (2) mounted with a light-emitting element (3), and a frame (4) disposed on the substrate (2). The frame (4) includes a first frame portion (4a) disposed on the substrate (2) and surrounding the light-emitting element (3), and having an inner wall surface substantially perpendicular to an upper surface of the substrate (2), an upper end of the inner wall surface being positioned at a level higher than that of an upper surface of the light-emitting element (3), and a second frame portion (4b) surrounding the inner wall surface of the first frame portion (4a) when viewed in a plan view, and having an inner periphery which is so shaped as to extend at an outward incline from a lower end of the inner periphery to an upper thereof. The light-emitting device (1) includes a wavelength converter (5) supported on the frame (4) and opposed to the substrate (2) with a gap. |
