PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing expression or an activation regulator of AKAP12 is provided to control formation of and/or suppress a fibrotic glial scar and to effectively treat central nervous system disorders. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating central nervous system contains expression or an activation regulator of AKAP12(A-kinase anchoring protein 12). The central nervous system disorders to be treated includes stroke, traumatic cerebral disorder, or spiral injury disorder. The composition additionally contains a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. A method for treating central nervous system disorders comprises a step of administering the regulator to an affected individual.
