A method for monitoring an autoimmune disease, an infectious disease or a cancer comprising obtaining a sample of T-cells and/or B-cells, amplifying molecules of nucleic acid from said cells comprising the CDR3 from T-cell receptor genes or immunoglobulin genes, isolating these amplified products, sequencing said amplified products to obtain a full repertoire of CDR3 sequences and determining the levels of correlating clonotypes of the autoimmune disease, an infectious disease or a cancer. The full repertoire may include a V segment and the correlating clonotypes may be distinguished by V, D and J segments used. |
