Method for detecting a fault of a temperature sensor

The method involves receiving (E10) information i.e. signal (c), indicating that a heating step is implemented in a domestic electric appliance, and verifying temperature (E20) measured by a temperature senor, by using a safety microcontroller when the electric appliance is in operation, where the signal is emitted by an operating microcontroller when the operating microcontroller controls the implementation of the heating step. The signal is transmitted between the safety microcontroller and the operating microcontroller by a serial communication link. An independent claim is also included for a domestic electric appliance.
