<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device equipped with a light input function which operates on the basis of environmental rays of light in a wide range. <P>SOLUTION: A region for judging a contact is adjusted according to an image displayed on a liquid crystal panel 1 so that any influence from a display image can be suppressed. Thus, it is much more accurately to detect contact coordinates on the basis of a picked up image. Also, this display device includes an illuminance measurement part 6 for detecting the illuminance of external rays of light so that the contact coordinates can be detected according to the illuminance of the external rays of light.
