PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplex-winding AC motor capable of preventing a chain of shorting faults in an inverter and malfunctions, such as causing contact accident between a stator and a rotator arising from the shorting fault. SOLUTION: In the multiplex-winding AC motor, respective sets of winding constituting an armature are multiplexed as a plurality of winding groups 100A, 100B, the sets of winding constituting the winding groups 100A, 100B are wound in a concentrated winding method and minimize the number of locations where different winding groups 100A, 100B are mutually adjacent along the circumferential direction. In addition, in-phase winding groups 101a to 101f, 102a to 102f, 103a to 103f, 104a to 104f, 105a to 105f, 106a to 106f, belonging to the respective winding groups 100A, 100B, are at angular positions which are uniformly allocated in a mechanical manner along the circumferential direction.
