PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate formation of a battery module using bipolar batteries. SOLUTION: A battery module 11 has a plurality of the bipolar batteries 40 including a battery element 20 in which a bipolar electrode 21 composed by arranging a cathode active material layer 23 on one face of a current collector 22 and an anode active material layer 24 on the other face is laminated, while interposing an electrolyte layer 25 between the bipolar electrodes, and a seal 30 which is arranged around each single battery layer 26 composed by laminating a cathode active material layer, an electrolyte layer, and an anode active material layer so as to block contact of the single battery layer with outside air; and a pair of conductive holding plates 50, 60 which holds a plurality of the bipolar batteries 40 while sandwiching them from both sides in a laminating direction of the bipolar electrodes, and electrically connects the bipolar batteries with each other. A plurality of the bipolar batteries are directly sandwiched by a pair of the holding plates without sealing the battery element with a sheath material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
