PURPOSE: A slag treating apparatus and method of a melting blast furnace are provided to maintain smooth transfer and dehydration of granulated slag by crushing and supplying granulated foam slag to a dehydrating drum. CONSTITUTION: A slag treating apparatus of a melting blast furnace comprises a crushing unit(130) which crushes granulated slag discharged from a granulated slag box(30), a dehydrating drum(40) removing moisture from the granulated slag, and a deflection unit(110) for directly transferring the granulated to the dehydrating drum if the granulated slag is in a normal powder state and switching the path of the granulated slag to pass through the crushing unit if the granulated slag is foaming slag.
