摘要 A patch 102 for measuring a physiological state comprises a battery 209 and an antenna 212, each of which is coupled to an integrated circuit comprising a sensor interface 204 (for receiving signals from body sensors 202), a processor 208, memory storage 214, radio 210 and power management circuits for coordinating power dissipation on the chip. The patch is designed such that the volume of the patch is less than 30 cm³, and that the patch can transmit the gathered data from the sensors over a wireless connection and continue to monitor the sensors for at least two days without requiring replacement or recharging of the battery. This allows for low cost design and low power dissipation for maximum effectiveness of the sensor system. The sensors may measure a number of physiological parameters, and the patch may be purposed to act as a cardiac, neurological, endocrinological, or fitness/wellness patch. A method for unsupervised placement of a physiological patch using visual markers and placement verification is also disclosed.
