The device has a first part (1) and a second part (2) arranged within an end of a hollow profile i.e. rung (10). The first part and the second part define a space for receiving and fixing a fastening unit (5). Screws (30, 31) separate the first part from the second part when the parts are received within the end of the hollow profile so as to wedge the first part and the second part against an inner wall of the hollow profile. The parts are made of aluminum or ZAMAK(RTM: zinc and aluminum alloy) or high-density polyethylene.
