758,604. Catch fastenings. BURGESSMANNING CO. July 22, 1954 [Aug. 18, 1953], No. 21403/54. Class 44. [Also in Groups X and XIII] In a panel ceiling for a heat transfer system including a plurality of spaced-apart fluid conducting pipes 17 and a plurality of panels 11 arranged in a plane underlying the pipes to form a ceiling surface, releasable latch support means for the panels comprise integral flanges 14 disposed at opposite edges thereof, the flanges having extremities 22 turned back over the panels and curved with outward facing concavity into an are of approximately 90 degrees or less and spring clips 23 having generally circular clamp portions 24 almost encircling the pipes and holding the curved flange extremities 22 firmly against the pipes and having legs 25, 26 flaring outwardly from the clamp portions towards the panels. The clamp portion of each clip is slightly elongated to provide a space 30 on each side of a pipe, these spaces assisting the withdrawal of a panel from the clip. The legs 25, 26 may be curved instead of cranked as shown. Flanges may be provided on all four sides of a rectangular panel so that the panels may be used with either closely spaced or widely spaced pipes. |
