<p>Flame retardant polymer composition comprises: (i) at least one alpha -olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer with a vinyl acetate content of 40-90 wt.%, based on the total weight of the alpha -olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer; and (ii) a synergistic flame retardant combination comprising (a) a hypophosphorous acid derivative salt (I), (b) a metal hydroxide, preferably aluminum hydroxide, and (c) a melamine compound. Flame retardant polymer composition comprises: (i) at least one alpha -olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer with a vinyl acetate content of 40-90 wt.%, based on the total weight of the alpha -olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer; and (ii) a synergistic flame retardant combination comprising (a) a hypophosphorous acid derivative salt of formula ((R 1>-P(R 2>)(=O)-O) -> mM(n+)) (I), (b) a metal hydroxide, preferably aluminum hydroxide, and (c) a melamine compound. R 1>, R 2> : 1-6C alkyl, preferably 1-4C alkyl; M : Ca, Al or Zn ions; m : 2 or 3; and n : 1 or 3. An independent claim is also included for a flame retardant combination for producing the flame retardant polymer composition, comprising (i), (a), (b) and (c).</p> |
