PURPOSE: A locking device for a manhole cover is provided to reduce material costs by reducing the length of a second reinforcing member formed on a manhole cover. CONSTITUTION: A locking device for a manhole cover comprises a holder(12), a locking bar(26), a protruded ring(31). The holder is formed on a first reinforcing member(11) of a manhole cover(10). The locking bar is formed on the holder, and a part of the locking bar located at a second reinforcing member(13) is curved upward. The bottom surface of the protruded ring is inclined so that the front end of the locking bar can be easily inserted thereinto.
