PURPOSE: An engine start and stop switch for vehicles is provided to inform drivers with the state of the vehicle by changes in the color of a light emitting diode. CONSTITUTION: An engine start and stop switch for vehicles comprises a body(400), a LED(light emitting diode), a button(700), and a prism lens(800). The body comprises a PCB assembling unit(410) and a button connecting unit(420). The PCB assembling unit is movably fitted into a body mounting unit(150) of a case(100). An indicator(450) is connected to one side of the button connecting unit. The LED is connected to the end of a LED bridge(610). The indicator is exposed through an indicator hole(710). The prism lens comprises a button hole(810) and a LED connecting piece(820). The prism lens is connected to an outer surface of the button through the button hole. One end of the LED connecting piece is connected to the LED, and the LED connecting piece diffuses the light.
