A pasteurising installation for pasteurising animal feed, having a pasteurising unit 2 and a cooling unit 3. The cooling unit 3 is in the form of a heat exchanger, where the height H of the cooling unit 3 is a multiple of its largest cross-sectional dimension D. A helical cooling coil 6 runs downwards inside the heat exchanger 3. The upper end of the coil 6 is connected to a feed connection-piece 7 and its lower end to a delivery connection-piece 12 arranged at the bottom of the heat exchanger 3. |
