Wind-powered electrical generator

The disclosed wind-powered electrical generator has both a strong tower and a large opening area for air intake/exhaust, providing ample cooling capacity. A rotor head catches the wind via blades, rotates, and drives a generator located inside a nacelle, thereby generating electricity. The nacelle is located in the upper end of a tower (2) erected upon a foundation. External air is introduced inside the tower via a tower opening (20) in the surface of the tower (2), thereby cooling the space inside the tower. The tower has a tube-shaped member (21) extending inside the tower from the tower opening (20). Air can pass through pressure-drop elements on some or all of the surface of the tube-shaped member (21), and the effective opening area due to the pressure-drop elements is made larger than the actual area of the tower opening (20).
