摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve compression efficiency of a code amount in an image encoding system using motion compensated prediction based on geometrical conversion. <P>SOLUTION: A geometrical conversion motion compensated prediction unit 103 calculates, for each of plural prediction modes, a motion vector and a prediction signal between a target block in a target image and a reference block in a reference image having geometrical conversion relation with the target block. A difference vector calculation unit 114 calculates a prediction motion vector of a representative pixel corresponding to a certain vertex in the target block by adaptively selecting the value of a motion vector of a representative pixel corresponding to an adjacent vertex of an adjacent block or a motion vector of the adjacent block and the value of a motion vector of a representative pixel corresponding to another vertex in the target block, and performing calculation based on the selected motion vector value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
