<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable optical module at low cost, which includes an easily handled mirror member and includes a fewer components and which can be easily assembled. <P>SOLUTION: An optical transceiver (10) includes: a substrate having flexibility and light-transmitting property, and having an underclad layer (58) in at least a part of a surface thereof; a core (60) extending along the underclad layer (58); an overclad layer (62) surrounding the core (60) in cooperation with the underclad layer (58); a photoelectric conversion element (38) fixed to the substrate on the side opposite to the core (60); and a mirror member (48) fixed to the substrate on the same side as the core (60).
