<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely reproduce multiple colors, and to suppress sudden fluctuation of a gradation reproduction curve by holding smoothness of the gradation reproduction curve without compelling a user to classify test print paper. <P>SOLUTION: A measured color measured by a spectrometer and density proportional to an area ratio of respective color toner images in a color-measured adaptive region obtained by a region search section are stored in a sampling color database at every image information. A correction amount to a setting value showing the gradation reproduction curve for making a difference smaller is decided based on a plurality of algorithms showing a relation between output colors which are previously stored on the toner images that can be formed by imaging means and the setting value showing the gradation reproduction curve of a print controller, the difference between a measured color obtained by averaging the respective measured colors stored in the sampling color database and a reference color, the averaged density and a present setting value showing the gradation reproduction curve.
