<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device with improved emboss transferability, which prevents changes in load of an intermediate transfer belt even when embossed paper or heavy paper passes, reduces shock jitter, and improves image quality. <P>SOLUTION: When a thickness of paper detected by a paper thickness sensor is equal to or larger than a predetermined threshold, a release cam 35 is rotated by a release motor 36 before the paper passes through a transfer process and presses the release lever 34 down. A bearing 27 supporting a secondary transfer roller 9B is moved in advance by the release lever 34 before paper passing, downward or in a direction away from a repulsion roller 2C, to a position where the secondary transfer roller 9B is located at the end of the paper passing. There is no change in load with respect to the repulsion roller 2C or change in speed in a direction of braking an intermediate transfer belt 21, thereby significantly reducing shock jitter due to entry of heavy paper. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
