PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current fuse of shock wave utilization type which, when a fuse wire explosively melts and evaporates due to an overcurrent, reflectively converges generated shock waves to the fuse wire, thereby raising atmospheric pressure to suppress generation of arcs, and which is adapted to sustain a rise in atmospheric pressure in order to suppress generation of arcs.
SOLUTION: The fuse has small spaces provided therein which communicate with a concave spherical surface wall thereof. Shock waves reflected and converged on the concave spherical surface wall of the fuse enter the small spaces through minute holes communicating therewith, thereby sustaining a rise in atmospheric pressure necessary to suppress generation of arcs and acting upon remaining fuse wires inside the small spaces as Paschen rules. This results in completion of cutoff without generating arcs in the fuse.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
