A third specific distance and a fourth specific distance both of which correspond to the calculated thickness of the adipose are calculated on the basis of a predetermined relationship among the thickness of the adipose, the third specific distance, and the measurement sensitivity of an intercalating layer and the measurement sensitivity of the deep layer upon the reception of light at a position which is apart by the third specific distance from the light-emitting means (108).
