The apparatus has a holding unit e.g. foundation frame or motor rocker (6), which is designed as a hollow part that is partially filled with lubricant i.e. lubricating oil. A component is partially filled with the lubricant and designed as a gear drive (4) driven by a motor (1) i.e. electromotor. A rotor shaft of the motor is connected to an input shaft of the gear drive with or without a brake (3) via a coupling device (2). A housing of the component and/or the motor is connected with the rocker that is utilized as a cooling body or auxiliary tank for lubricating the component.
