Shaping a welded part (35) of a workpiece (W) that includes a thick plate (31) and a thin plate (33) welded together, the invention comprising: backing one surface of the workpiece (W) with a backing member (13); placing a pressing member (11) on the other surface of the workpiece (W); providing the pressing member (11) with a first portion (111) that faces the thick plate (31), a second portion (113) that faces the thin plate (33), and a third portion (115) that faces the welded part (35) and connects the first portion (111) and the second portion (113); pressing the border between the thick plate (31) and the welded part (35) with that region of the third portion (115) which lies on the side of the first portion (111); and pressing that part of the welded part (35) which lies on the side of the thin plate (35) with the border between the third portion (115) and the second portion (113).
