The invention relates to a control-interface device, including : (i) a plurality of capacitive electrodes arranged so as to cover a detection surface; (ii) an electronic capacitive-measurement means capable of producing information on a distance and/or contact between at least one control object and capacitive electrodes; and (iii) a switching means capable of configuring said electronic capacitive-measurement means so as to enable direct capacitance measurements, as well as measurements of the variation in coupling capacitances. The electronic capacitive-measurement means at least partially references a floating reference electrical potential during the direct capacitance measurements. The invention also relates to a method implemented in said device or in an apparatus.
