The invention relates to a method for producing hydrocarbons in a porous reservoir of hydrocarbons comprising - making at least two wells (13, 14) in the reservoir of hydrocarbons, - creating an electrically conducting path (16) in the reservoir between the wells with a thixotropic fluid or fluid with a delayed gelling effect, - establishing an electric connection between the wells through the conducting path, the passing of the current dissipates heat by the Joule effect, the heat warms up the reservoir by thermic conductivity, decreasing the viscosity of the hydrocarbons. The invention also relates to an installation for applying the method.
