With respect to a glow plug having a combustion pressure sensor and equipped with a heater unit having multiple stages with differing diameters, provided is a glow plug structure with which the detection accuracy of the pressure sensor is improved by ensuring sufficient surface area for a member connecting the heater unit and the housing, and with which the detection accuracy of the pressure sensor can be further improved. This glow plug (100) is equipped with: a roughly cylindrical housing that extends in the axial direction; a rod-shaped heater unit, the tip of which protrudes from the tip of the housing, and which is capable of moving in the axial direction; a connecting member that connects the heater unit and the housing in the interior of the housing while enabling the heater unit to move in the axial direction; and a pressure sensor that detects the pressure incurred by the heater unit. A thick-diameter part is formed at the rear end of the heater unit, and a thin-diameter part having a smaller diameter than the thick-diameter part is formed closer to the front end than the thick-diameter part. The connecting member connects the thin-diameter part of the heater unit and the housing in the interior of the housing.
