Fe(II)-SUBSTITUTED BETA-TYPE ZEOLITE, ABSORBENT CONTAINING THE SAME, PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF, AND METHOD FOR REMOVING NITROGEN MONOXIDE AND HYDROCARBON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite which can adsorb and remove effectively nitrogen monoxide and hydrocarbons contained in a gas to be cleaned even in the case where oxygen is present in a high concentration in the gas, and the case where the temperature of the gas is low.

SOLUTION: The Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite is one ion-exchanged with Fe(II) ions. In the Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite, the SiO2/Al2O3ratio is 10 to 18; the BET specific surface area is 400 to 700 m2/g; a micropore specific surface area is 290 to 500 m2/g; and a micropore volume is 0.15 to 0.25 cm3/g. The amount of Fe(II) carried is suitably 0.01 to 6.5 mass% to the Fe(II)-substituted beta-type zeolite.
