PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present an improved method for generating a high-temperature gas.

SOLUTION: In order to generate a high-temperature gas, a fuel 17 is burnt in a first combustion space 2 under a shortage of oxygen, and combustion gas 45 is flowed out of the first combustion space 2 in a first direction into the second combustion space 35 to generate an air current 40 in the second combustion space toward the outflow opening 37 for the high-temperature gas in the second combustion space, and the second direction is reversed to the first direction at that time.
