<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an image tube having a characteristic of uniform luminance without luminance unevenness as well as luminous stains produced locally. <P>SOLUTION: For the formation of a photoelectric conversion layer in an X-ray image tube, alkali metal vapor 21, introduced into an alkali metal discharge chamber 22 with a flight directivity, impinges on a lid 22b and is dispersed. The alkali metal vapor 21 is also dispersed at a bottom portion 22a, a sidewall 22c, etc. After repetition of the dispersion, a molecular flow from a gas outlet 22d to an input portion 13 in a vacuum envelope 11 is formed and then discharged. In this system, an alkali metal absorption layer 23 containing chromium oxide is attached to the inside of the alkali metal discharge chamber 22 to absorb a part of alkali metal vapor impinging on the alkali metal absorption layer 23. As a result, the amount of alkali metal vapor that travels in a straight line within the vacuum envelope 11 and reaches the input portion 13 is substantially reduced, thus providing a photoelectric conversion layer having a uniform quantum efficiency of photoelectric effect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
