<p>Vacuum pump system for evacuating condensable and optionally non-condensable components containing process steam from process plant (1), which is operated at low pressure, comprises a vacuum pump (39) and a condenser (43) upstream to the vacuum pump for at least partial condensing the condensable component of the process steam upstream to the vacuum pump. The condenser has at least two separate condenser chambers, which are separately fed to separate condensations at different vacuum levels to process vapor streams. The condenser chambers are connected via at least one throttle opening (63). An independent claim is also included for a process plant comprising a vacuum pump system, where the process plant operating as a water desalination plant exhibits flash evaporator levels having different pressure levels operating at low pressure and degassing stage operating at low pressure, to which the water to be desalinated is supplied. A first condenser chamber absorbs process steam from the flash evaporator level operating at the lowest pressure and a second condenser chamber absorbs process steam and/or gas from the degassing stage.</p> |
