<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device capable of emitting surface light of high brightness and having superior brightness uniformity with light-and-dark unevenness restrained, from an emission surface of a light guide plate, as well as an image display device. <P>SOLUTION: First and second convex strips 8, 9 of a trapezoid cross section are alternately formed along an up-and-down direction (a Y-axis direction) on an emission surface 2d of the light guide plate 2 so as to pinch first and second concave strips 10a, 10b of a trapezoid cross section, and concave strips 7 with a V-letter cross-section shape are formed along an right-and-left direction (an X-axis direction) on a bottom surface 2c of the light guide plate 2. Angles a1, a2 of slopes 8b, 8c with the X-axis of the first strip 8 of the emission surface are to be set at 25 to 40 degrees, and those a3, a4 of slopes 9b, 9c with the X-axis of the second strip 9, at 45 to 60 degrees. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
