<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a curtain airbag apparatus that can preferably protect occupants on the occurrence of a rollover while securing protection performance for occupants' heads on the occurrence of a side collision, and also prevents an increase in volume of the whole deployment portion. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle airbag apparatus 10 includes: a main chamber 36 embedded, in a folded state, in a roof side part 18 and deploying downward into a form of a curtain by inflating with a gas supplied upon a side collision and rollover of the vehicle; a front side sub-chamber 42 and a rear side sub-chamber 44 deploying in a position free from an overlap with the main chamber 36, as viewed laterally, by inflating with a gas supplied at least upon a rollover of the vehicle; and an internal pressure difference creator that makes internal pressures of the front side sub-chamber 42 and the rear side sub-chamber 44 higher than an internal pressure of the main chamber 36 at least upon a rollover of the vehicle. The internal pressure difference creator is configured such that inner diameters of a front side sub-gas injector 56 and a rear side sub-gas injector 58 are formed larger than inner diameters of a front side main gas injector 52 and a rear side main gas injector 54. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
