A group communication method comprising: receiving a group access request from a network app requesting access to the group, the group access request comprises a group identifier of the group; acquiring group member information of each group member within the group on the basis of the group identifier; on the basis of the group member information, determining within the group a first group member connected to a service function entity via same gateway; and transmitting to the gateway a first group member access request for requesting access to the first group member. Also the service function entity for use in group communication and the gateway for use in group communication. Employment of the present invention allows for reduced signaling overhead in group communication, thereby improving the efficiency of group communication.
