<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide component mounting apparatus and method, and a method for teaching a suction position for a component mounting apparatus which can simply and correctly teach a suction position for a large sized component. <P>SOLUTION: A component P is arranged in a take-out position where a suction nozzle sucks the component P to take out in a component supply part. A plurality of images of the component P are captured by a substrate recognition camera which has a smaller imaging visual field than the size of the component P to get a plurality of partial images. The partial images are synthesized to generate a whole image of the component P, which is bigger than the imaging visual field. A component center location CP corresponding to the center of the component P is taught on a reduced whole-image 10A* that is displayed by reducing the whole image of the component P. A suction position SP for a suction nozzle 9a is taught on the reduced whole-image 10A* in which the component center location CP has been taught. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
