<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a better management method for performing a discrimination process of a vendor of a network device and subsequently discriminating a type (a function) of the device. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention is a management device for controlling a device on a network by an MIB (Management Information Base) value using an SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). The management device includes: transmission means that transmits, to an object device on the network, a GetNextRequest command that specifies a parent node of a node having a value for specifying a vendor, and a node representing a specific function of the device; and discrimination means that analyzes GetResponse command received as a response to discriminate the vendor of the object device and the presence/absence of the specific function. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
