The sealing element (10) has a sealing carrier (16) with an extended longitudinal axis and two brackets (18,20), where each bracket has an outer side and an inner side. The brackets are connected longitudinally to form a corner angle. The seals (28,30) are mounted in parallel at a free longitudinal edge of each bracket for extending the outer side of the associated bracket. A fastening device is provided on the inner side of one bracket for detachably fixing the sealing element on a corner of a hollow profile (12). An independent claim is also included for a sealing system with a protective cap.
