<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix display device enabling high speed writing and a driving method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: In a display device 100 having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix, a pixel 209 includes a retention volume 206 for retaining data voltage from a data line 201 arranged in each pixel row, a diode 203 that is made conductive to enable writing of data voltage from the data line 201 to the retention volume 206, and an organic EL element 205 that emits light according to data voltage written by conduction of the diode 203. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
