<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily suppress trouble in control of an image display part by a control part, in a head-mounted type display device capable of connecting/separating the image display part and the control part. <P>SOLUTION: The head-mounted type display device comprises: an image display part which has an image light generation part for generating image light and a light guide part for guiding the image light to eyes of a user, and which allows the user to view a virtual image in a state of being mounted on a head part of the user; and a control part which is detachably connected to the image display part, and controls image display by a currently connected image display part. The image display part has a storage part for storing individual information capable of identifying a control mode of the image display part by the control part.
