<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer capable of improving insertability of a reinforcement cage, when the reinforcement cage is inserted into an excavated hole filled with a hydraulic material such as concrete. <P>SOLUTION: A spacer 1 for being attached to a reinforcement cage 10 for being inserted into an excavated hole 20 comprises a space holding portion 2 with a predetermined thickness, which is joined to a main reinforcement 11 elongated in the axial direction of the reinforcement cage 10 and which is constituted to be protruded to a predetermined height outward in the radial direction of the reinforcement cage 10 from the main reinforcement 11 and elongated by a predetermined length in the axial direction of the reinforcement cage 10, and an inner wall abutting portion 3 which is provided at an end, on the other side of the main reinforcement 11, of the space holding portion 2 and which is constituted to abut on an inner wall 21 of the excavated hole 20.
