<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the chemical feed of a heavy metal scavenger, which can control the chemical feed amount of the heavy metal scavenger to the proper amount that is just enough, in a method of treating heavy metal-containing waste water with a dithiocarbamic acid based heavy metal scavenger. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for controlling the chemical feed of a heavy metal scavenger, a dithiocarbamic acid based heavy metal scavenger is added to heavy metal-containing waste water, and after the addition of the dithiocarbamic acid based heavy metal scavenger, a heavy metal compound is added to the treated water subjected to solid-liquid separation, therefore, heavy metal ions and the dithiocarbamic acid based heavy metal scavenger in the treated water are reacted to cause color development, subsequently, the absorbance or transmittance in a wavelength of 400 to 700 nm is measured, and the addition amount of the dithiocarbamic acid based heavy metal scavenger is controlled based on the measured result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
