摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas recirculation system for an internal combustion engine that controls the formation of a water film in an impurity collection filter to prevent a path in a low pressure exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe from being blocked by the impurity collection filter. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas recirculation system for an internal combustion engine includes both high pressure EGR pipe and low pressure EGR pipe 71, wherein the impurity collection filter 82 is provided on the inward side of the low pressure EGR pipe 71. The exhaust gas recirculation system further includes an exhaust gas introduction pipe 81 having a base end 81a connected to an exhaust pipe 42 and a tip 81b opened on the inward side of the low pressure EGR pipe 71. The impurity collection filter 82 includes an impurity collection surface 82a that is inclined relative to a horizontal surface, and also is supported by the tip 81b of the exhaust gas introduction pipe 81. An upstream end 71u, which is located on an exhaust reflux flow direction side of the low pressure EGR pipe 71, is connected to the exhaust pipe 42 at a connecting position a2 located downstream of a connecting position a3 in an exhaust direction, at which the exhaust gas introduction pipe 81 is connected to the exhaust pipe 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
